Skoda Slavia facelift spied testing again: Interior, design changes here

The Skoda Slavia sedan made its global debut in 2021. Now, nearly five years later, the model is set to receive its first mid-life facelift, bringing a range of design and feature updates. The upcoming Slavia facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times over the past few months, with every sighting revealing something new. Fresh spy shots of the Slavia facelift have surfaced, revealing more details about the sedan’s upcoming updates. The latest images also offer a peek inside the cabin, though most of the dashboard continues to be hidden beneath heavy camouflage.

The spy image offers a first look at the Slavia facelift’s interior. While camouflage still covers most of the dashboard, the cabin layout appears largely unchanged. A free-standing infotainment screen and the existing steering wheel design can be seen in the test vehicle. Based on updates introduced with the Kushaq facelift, the Slavia is expected to gain a larger touchscreen, an updated digital instrument cluster and new upholstery options. Mechanically, it is expected to continue unchanged, retaining the same set of engine options. Just like the Kushaq, Skoda expected to introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. Another engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol.Design-wise, it is expected to feature a redesigned fascia with sharper headlamps, a revised grille incorporating a connected light strip, similar to the Kushaq facelift and a new bumper design. Along the sides, the sedan could get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates are likely to include a reworked boot lid, slimmer tail-lamp housing, and other subtle styling enhancements. The sedan will also feature dynamic turn signals. The current model uses halogen indicators at both ends; the facelifted model will be replaced by LED units. The updated combination lamps with dynamic turn indicators will be placed in the lower outer section, with a sweeping inside-to-out animation similar to those seen on higher-end sedans.Image: Rushlane/Instagram
