Vadivelu and Dhanush are set to share screen space in ‘D56’, bringing the veteran comedian and actor together after a long gap. Directed by Lubber Pandhu filmmaker Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, the tentatively titled film officially went on floors with a pooja ceremony in Sivaganga on Friday.The collaboration has drawn attention not only because of the combination of Dhanush and Vadivelu but also because the comedian has now opened up about why the two actors did not work together for so long.
Vadivelu says ‘third person’ caused misunderstanding with Dhanush
Speaking about his reunion with Dhanush, Vadivelu said their long gap was the result of a misunderstanding involving a third person.“After a long gap, I got an opportunity to work with Dhanush sir with D56. You might ask why there is so much gap that we didn’t collaborate, it’s because of some misunderstanding between us done by third person,” he said, as reported by Polimer.Vadivelu also clarified that D56 is not a political film and teased audiences about what they can expect from the project.“It’s not a political film, it’s a very different film. I was very proud and surprised after hearing the story. It will become a huge hit,” he added.
Dhanush and Vadivelu reunite after ‘Padikathavan’ connection
The reunion also brings back memories of Padikathavan. Vadivelu was initially associated with the project, but the comedy role eventually went to the late Vivek.Their collaboration in D56 therefore marks a fresh professional association between the two actors after years without a film together.
What is ‘D56’ about?
The makers have kept the film’s story and several character details under wraps. Earlier updates from director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu suggested that D56 would be a mass commercial entertainer, while reports have described it as having a rural setting.
