Cast dub for ‘Ramayana’ English trailer

About the ‘Ramayana’ trailer

Like its Hindi counterpart, the English trailer opens with the rise of Ravana. Yash’s character proclaims himself to be “the ultimate ruler of the heavens, the earth and the netherworld,” while an on-screen title declares, “Ages ago, a tyrant was born.”The focus then shifts to Lord Rama telling his father, King Dasharatha, “I would gladly sacrifice my life for the welfare of this world.”The clip then builds up to depict Rama’s 14-year exile, with wife Sita, played by Sai Pallavi, and his brother Lakshman, portrayed by Ravi Dubey. There, they cross paths with Surpanakha, played by Rakul Preet Singh, aka Ravana’s sister.Following her mutilation at Lakshman’s hands, Ravana vows revenge, telling his sister, “I promise Ram will pay for what he did to you, Surpanakha. Not only will Ram’s death be agonising, so will his humiliation.” The trailer culminates with Rama’s resolve to rescue his abducted wife. “If Ravan is the ruler of all three realms, then all three realms shall witness his death. I will bring back my Sita.”The first trailer for Ramayana made its global debut on July 24 at San Diego Comic-Con, where producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, and lead stars Ranbir and Yash introduced the film to an international audience. The official trailer, however, was released online only on July 30.
