Priyanka Chopra has opened up about the importance of cultural understanding in her marriage to Nick Jonas, saying that respect for each other’s roots is essential when two people come from different backgrounds.The actor reflected on her relationship with Nick and admitted that his willingness to embrace Indian culture has been an important part of their bond.“I don’t know if I’d love him if he didn’t. That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it’s really important to have a sense of respect for your partner’s roots,” she said in an interview with E! News.Priyanka and Nick have frequently spoken about being each other’s biggest supporters while also embracing the traditions and cultures they grew up with. The actor also highlighted the importance of kindness in keeping a relationship strong.“Being kind to your partner. That’s something that’s really important.”Priyanka was in New York for the premiere of Cycle of Love, a documentary on which she served as an executive producer. The film follows the extraordinary real-life romance of K Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin, who travelled across countries decades ago in order to be together.The actor’s comments come as she continues to balance her international career with projects in India and Hollywood.On the Indian film front, Priyanka is set to star in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The action-adventure is scheduled to arrive during Sankranti 2027 and will mark Priyanka’s debut in Telugu cinema.The film’s story has been written by V Vijayendra Prasad and SS Kanchi, while Rajamouli has penned the screenplay. KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya are backing the project as producers.Priyanka is also returning as Nadia Sinh in the second season of the Prime Video series Citadel. In addition, she will share the screen with Russell Crowe in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Bluefly, directed by Nimrod Antal.
