Kartik Aaryan has undergone successful knee surgery at a Mumbai hospital after sustaining an injury while filming an action sequence for his upcoming project with director Kabir Khan. The National Award-winning actor is currently recovering at home and is expected to return to the sets soon.
Kartik Aaryan undergoes knee surgery
According to Hindustan Times, Kartik Aaryan’s spokesperson shared an update on his health: “Kartik Aaryan sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his film. His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon.”The injury occurred during the shoot of his upcoming project with director Kabir Khan. Earlier, the India Today report stated, “Kartik was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital and is under medical care. The doctors will perform his knee surgery in a day, after which he will have to rest for a few days. He should then be able to resume his work commitments.” Notably, this is not the first time Kartik has faced such an injury, having previously hurt his knee during the shoot of his 2023 film ‘Shehzada’.
Kartik Aaryan’s national award triumph
Despite the injury, 2026 has turned out to be a landmark year for Kartik Aaryan professionally. The actor recently won the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 72nd National Film Awards, announced on July 18, for his portrayal of Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar in ‘Chandu Champion’, directed by Kabir Khan.Reacting to the win on Instagram, Kartik wrote, “Still processing… Some moments are simply bigger than words, and this is one of them. A dream I’ve carried for years has finally come true. Forever humbled, forever grateful..Best Actor National Award #ChanduChampion.” He shared the honour with Malayalam star Mammootty, who won for Bramayugam. While this marks Kartik’s first National Award, it is Mammootty’s fourth.
Kartik Aaryan’s next projects
After recovery, Kartik Aaryan is set to resume shooting for Kabir Khan’s untitled film, along with the remaining portions of Anurag Basu’s romantic drama opposite Sreeleela. He also has ‘Naagzilla’ in the pipeline.
