Ayaan Agnihotri shares how Salman Khan reacted to his Bollywood music debut

Ayaan, who made his playback debut with ‘C’mon Baby’ in ‘Bandar’, recently revealed that he had earlier hidden the news from his ‘Salman Mamu’ up until the songs’ announcements and release. While talking to Hindustan Times, the singer revealed that he had been told to keep the song a secret, and that Nikhil Dwivedi, who co-produced the song, had wished to catch the ‘Tubelight’ actor’s honest reaction to it.Providing more context, he shared, “I was actually not allowed to tell Salman Mamu that I was doing this song for Bobby uncle’s film Bandar. Nikhil (Dwivedi, co-producer) swore me to secrecy and he said, ‘When this song goes through, then I will play it to your Mamu and tell him I’ve discovered a new voice; what do you think of this guy?’”Agni then shared that when he asked about his Mamu’s reaction to his song, he was told that, “He (Salman Khan) liked it and when he met me after that he told me I did a good job and should stay at it.”In another interview with NDTV a few weeks ago, Agni had also shared what kind of advice his uncle had for him for his debut. He shared that the actor had simply told him to “Sing your heart out and don’t give a s*** about what anyone thinks.”

Ayaan Agnihotri shares the possibility of a Bollywood acting debut

The singer, who had released 3 singles prior to his playback debut, also revealed that acting may also be in the cards for him in the future. The star shared that since from the get go, he had been heavily influenced by the Bollywood industry, and had always wanted to become an actor when he grew up. “I went to university to do acting and world theater”, he added, however, further sharing that he slowly realised that he enjoyed the performing aspect of it all.He mentioned, “I realised that it’s just performing in general that I really enjoy. Around the same time I started writing. Poems turned into spoken words, which turned into music, and I found a very special connection to music. I felt I could express things that I wanted to through my writing, and was inspired by music because it helped me relate to things I was going through and get through them. That really made an impact on me.As to whether a Bollywood debut as an actor is in the cards or not, Agni shared, “Maybe Bollywood some time in the future; it’s definitely not off the agenda because I do love acting. But right now the focus is on the music.”
