There may still be three months to go before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ hits theatres, but the film is already off to record-breaking advance ticket sales.

The Marvel film is reportedly seeing strong demand for tickets to their premium format shows ahead of the film’s December 18 theatrical release. As per reports on Deadline, domestic ticket pre-sales have reportedly crossed the USD 50 million mark, with still three months to go before its December release.The film, scheduled to have a wide release in cinemas on December 18, 2026, will face competition from Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Three’. As per reports, while the films will clash at the box office, ‘Dune’ will have an undisputed run on IMAX screns while ‘Doomsday’ will enjoy monopoly over other large-format screens.

According to the latest pre-sales figures, for ‘Doomsday’, more than 70% of ticket sales are reportedly coming from Infinity Vision screenings.The film’s July trailer launch helped the film become the second-biggest movie trailer launch of all time and the most-viewed trailer in Disney’s history.

‘Avengers Endgame: Encore’, an extended version of the 2019 blockbuster, is set to return to cinemas on September 25. The Sony-Marvel collaboration reportedly scored the biggest opening for a Marvel movie, by opening to USD 360 million worldwide in its first weekend, surpassing the USD 357.1 million record held by ‘Avengers: Endgame’ since April 2019.As per reports, the success of ‘Brand New Day’, combined with the marketing push for ‘Doomsday’, has also translated into increased engagement with Marvel titles streaming on OTT. Deadline reports that the studio recorded its highest-ever number of hours viewed on Disney+ in August, with more than 420 million hours watched during the month. The numbers whcih saw an increase of more than 200 million viewing hours in anticipation of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ also comes after the studio released a set of 15 essential movies and web shows to watch on the streaming platform, before fans can head to see ‘Doomsday’ in theatres.
