Sawan is one of the most revered months in Hindu religion. The month of Sawan is the most sacred and auspicious as the month is purely dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva devotees celebrate this month with pure devotion and dedication. They offer their sincere prayers to Lord Shiva. Sawan month begins few days after Dev Shayani Ekadashi. This yeear, Sawan month is going to start from July 30, 2026 and it will end on August 28, 2026.

Sawan 2026: Significance
According to Hindu Panchang, Sawan month holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This month is considered highly auspicious, which is dedicated to worship Lord Shiva. During this sacred month, devotees offer their sincere prayers to Lord Shiva and get engaged in various religious and spiritual activities. Sawan month is also known as Shravana month. Devotees offer prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with profound passion and sincerity. This month is believed to bring abundance and prosperity in the life of devotees. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati bless the devotees with happiness and all the worldly pleasures.
Sawan 2026: Puja Rituals
Before beginning the puja procedures, devotees take a sacred bath after rising early. Clean the entire house, but especially the puja area. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Light a diya with desi ghee and incense sticks. Invoke the idols by chanting associated mantras. You can also recite Shiva Chalisa and Shravan Maas Katha, which is considered meritorious. One must visit the Shiva temple and offer panchamrit to Shivalingam. Panchamrit is mixture of milk, curd, sugar powder, honey, and ghee. After offering Panchamrit, devotees should wash the Shivalingam with normal water and then offer bel patra, chandan, itra, bhang, dhatura, akha flower, sweets and fruits. To complete the puja, light a diya with desi ghee and then recite “Om Jai Shiv Omkara” aarti to appease Lord Shiva.
