Why Is Madhyahna Puja Important?
Traditionally, people believe that Lord Ganesha was born in the middle of the day, i.e. Madhyahna Kaal. Because of this, many people choose this time to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.After installing Bappa, followers may offer 21 Durva blades, red flowers, modak, laddoo, coconut and seasonal fruits as per their family tradition. Ganesh mantras and the Ganapati Atharvashirsha can also be recited.
When Is Anant Chaturdashi 2026 ?
The final major day of the grand Ganeshotsav, Anant Chaturdashi and Ganesh Visarjan, will be observed on Friday, September 25, 2026.This is the day when the idols preserved for the whole festival are immersed in prayers, music and the familiar chant “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya.
