Farah Khan believes that while the excitement of romance may fade with time, marriage evolves into something much deeper.During a candid conversation with Shekhar Suman, the filmmaker reflected on her 22-year marriage to husband Shirish Kunder. When asked why love and romance often seem to disappear after marriage, Farah offered a practical perspective.“When you’re dating, you want something very badly. When you get it, its value changes. I value Shirish in other things now—as a father, as a person who looks after the whole family. I cannot do without him. Shirish ke bagair hamara ghar nahi chal sakta,” she said.

‘He is a wonderful father’

Farah credited Shirish for being the pillar of their home and for playing a major role in raising their three children.“He is a wonderful father. People ask me how all my children got early admissions into such good universities. I tell them their father was their counsellor. He gives so much time to each child.”She added that Shirish continues to pursue his own passions, revealing that he still writes scripts and has even started learning artificial intelligence.“Of course he writes scripts. He’s also learning AI. He’s a loner, and I’ve always known that. That’s one of the reasons I liked him.”

A joke about Shirish’s new look

Farah also shared a funny anecdote about her husband after his recent haircut.“My son and Shirish are now the same height. If someone walks into the bedroom at night, I can’t make out whether it’s Shirish or my son. If the person comes and hugs me, then I know it’s my son,” she joked.Earlier in the conversation, Farah also reflected on becoming a mother later in life. She revealed that she was 42 when she underwent IVF and 43 when she delivered her triplets, calling her children “a blessing.”
