Los Angeles Knight Riders continued their strong start to the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 season with an 81-run win over Seattle Orcas on Sunday. The Jason Holder-led side has now won both of its matches in the six-team tournament.Batting first, Knight Riders posted 196 runs in their 20 overs, with contributions coming from several batters. Andre Fletcher led the scoring with 40 off 27 balls and added 58 runs for the opening wicket with Colin Munro, who made 30 from 22 deliveries.Rovman Powell gave the innings a late boost with 37 runs from just 11 balls, while captain Holder chipped in with 23 off 14 balls. For Seattle Orcas, Jasdeep Singh was the most successful bowler, picking up three wickets for 29 runs in four overs. Ottneil Baartman also claimed three wickets, finishing with figures of 3/36. Dasun Shanaka had a difficult outing, conceding 59 runs in four overs at an economy rate of 14.75.The standout moment of the innings came from Powell, whose 11-ball knock included five consecutive sixes off Shanaka. He was dismissed while trying to hit a sixth straight six and missed out on equalling the record for most sixes in an over.In reply, Seattle Orcas never managed to build momentum. Their openers were dismissed early, and the middle order failed to recover. Several batters got starts, but none scored more than Harmeet Singh, who made 25 while batting at No. 8. His innings helped the team cross the 100-run mark. The Orcas were eventually bowled out for 115 in 15.3 overs.Knight Riders made good use of the conditions and backed up their bowling effort with support in the field. Andre Russell and Corne van Schalkwyk picked up three wickets each, while Sunil Narine kept things tight with the ball. The result gives Los Angeles Knight Riders their second win in as many matches, while Seattle Orcas suffer their second defeat in three games.
