Samay Raina’s ‘India’s Got Latent 2’ has come under fresh scrutiny after a complaint was filed against casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India over allegedly inappropriate language used during a recent episode of the comedy show.The complaint was filed by Anurag Shrivastav, who has raised concerns over remarks he allegedly heard while watching the episode featuring actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, actor and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, Mukesh Chhabra, stand-up comedian Kaustubh Agarwal and host Samay Raina. The episode premiered on September 18 on Netflix and YouTube.
What the complaint against Mukesh Chhabra alleges
According to the IANS report, Shrivastav said he was watching Netflix on his laptop from a Mumbai hotel room on the evening of September 22, 2026, when he came across the ‘India’s Got Latent’ episode.The complaint alleges that Chhabra was heard making the remark, “Mere Aaram Nagar mein aao, gaand marao.”The complainant described the alleged language as “highly inappropriate, objectionable, and sexually suggestive” and sought verification of the statement before any conclusions are drawn.The complaint itself reportedly acknowledges that “the authenticity of this statement, the identification of the voice/person, the complete context, and the exact timestamp need to be verified from the original and unedited recording.”
Complainant questions Netflix India’s role
Shrivastav has also questioned Netflix’s role in approving and streaming the content. According to the complaint, if the alleged remark is authenticated, it could raise concerns around viewer dignity and child cyber safety.The complaint has sought an inquiry into how the content was approved for streaming and has also called for an examination of the role of Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s content chief. These remain allegations and requests made in the complaint; there is no indication in the cited report that the claims have been established.
‘India’s Got Latent 2’ has faced fresh controversy
The complaint comes days after the latest episode of ‘India’s Got Latent 2’ generated discussion online over jokes involving Mukesh Chhabra. The episode also saw Samay Raina make remarks about Chhabra’s girlfriend, while an unverified social media claim alleged that the shoot was briefly halted. Raina later responded to that claim on Instagram with a humorous post, without confirming the reported incident.The episode featured Chhabra alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhuvan Bam and Kaustubh Agarwal. Raina also roasted Nawazuddin over his appearance in Thamma during the episode.
The show was previously at the centre of a major controversy
This is not the first major controversy associated with ‘India’s Got Latent’. In February 2025, comedian and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia faced widespread criticism over remarks concerning parents and sex during an episode of the show’s first season. The controversy subsequently led to legal proceedings and significant public scrutiny of the programme.
