Mathew Thomas has addressed the perception that his recent success with ‘Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar’ marks a comeback in Malayalam cinema. The actor, who is receiving appreciation for his performance in the film, said he never consciously stepped away from the industry. Instead, he believes some of his recent films did not meet audience expectations.In an interview with Club FM, Mathew also opened up about his approach to choosing future projects. Mathew Thomas dismissed the idea that he had been away from cinema and has now returned with ‘Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar’. According to the actor, there was no deliberate break from acting. He feels that the films he worked on recently simply failed to connect with audiences as expected.“I didn’t go anywhere to make a comeback. I feel that the films I did recently were not able to meet people’s expectations. So, I am happy that after some time, I was able to do a film that meets people’s expectations while also being something they can enjoy. I am even happier when I hear the responses from the audience because it is a happy feeling to know that there are many people who want good things to happen for us,” Mathew Thomas said.

The actor is currently receiving praise for his performance in ‘Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar’. His belief that I would do well in this police role was important because if he didn’t have that belief, I wouldn’t have taken up the role. I had confidence while working with such a good crew. I knew they wouldn’t present me badly in the film, and that they would tell me if I made any mistakes. I am still trying to be part of good films. I will try to do the characters I get in the best possible way,” he added.
