Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited ‘Ramayana: Part 1′, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has found a way to beat the competition at the international box office. As per the latest reports, the makers have seemingly advanced the film’s release to ensure it gets an undisputed release window abroad.
‘Ramayana’ advances release date
According to a social media post by the film’s international distributors, Sony Pictures, ‘Ramayana’ will now release on November 5. The announcement comes as the epic prepares for its worldwide rollout during the festive Diwali weekend.
‘Ramayana’ vs ‘Godzilla ‘
Originally set to clash with the monster film ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’, ‘Ramayana’ will now release a day early, getting a head start at the box office. Reports further state that the film will likely have preview shows debuting on November 4, giving it an extended weekend at the international box office.The film’s impending clash with ‘Godzilla’ has sparked an online frenzy among Indian fans, excited to watch both films. While the Indian film is a first of a two-part saga, the Japanese monster film is said to be the final instalment in the ongoing franchise.

‘Ramayana’ will reach global audiences ahead of its India release, which is expected to arrive on the festival of Diwali. In India, ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is slated to release on November 8.
Namit Malhotra on ‘Ramayana’
While promoting the film in the US, Producer Namit Malhotra said ‘Ramayana’ would mix elements of fantasy and human drama from movies such as ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Gladiator’. “It will promise a very different experience unlike anything traditionally that, let’s say, Indian movies offer or even Hollywood for that matter,” Malhotra said. “It’s meant for the world and it’s got the best of the East and the best of the West coming together to make it happen.“The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with music by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. While the films have a reported combined budget of Rs 4,000 crore, rumours of a blockbuster box office opening are already doing the rounds. Early trade buzz indicates that the film could even break several box office records and become the highest grossing Indian film of all time.The second part of the film is slated to hit theatres on Diwali 2027.
