Amaal Mallik has called out Salman Khan Films over a social media post marking the anniversary of the 2015 film ‘Hero’. The singer-composer objected to the absence of credits for the creators of the song featured in the post, questioning why the composer and lyricist were not acknowledged.The official Salman Khan Films social media page had shared a post celebrating 11 years of ‘Hero’. Amaal noticed that the composer and lyricist associated with the song were missing from the post and responded in the comments section, stressing that the people behind a song deserve recognition for their work.“Whoever is handling the page or the social media of @skfilmsofficial, I love the audacity you have shown by leaving out the composer & the lyricist of the song lol ! It doesn’t look nice that a song that is created with the pain, blood, sweat and tears of a music composer & his lyric writer, is celebrated without the creators being respected or even mentioned.”
Amaal Mallik questions missing credits
Amaal continued his criticism in a second comment directed at those managing the Salman Khan Films account. He urged the team to follow basic professional practices when sharing content related to music and specifically asked that his comment not be removed.“Learn to do the basics otherwise delete this page. Don’t delete my comment, let Salman sir see it as well, so that he knows you guys screwed up.”His comments came in response to the anniversary post for ‘Hero’, directed by Nikkhil Advani and starring Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in their Bollywood debuts. Notably, Amaal Mallik composed the music for the film, while Kumaar penned the lyrics for ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’, one of the songs associated with the film. The track was originally sung by Amaal’s brother Armaan Malik, while Salman Khan later recorded another version.
Amaal Mallik announces break from film music
The latest criticism comes shortly after Amaal announced that he would be taking a break from film music until next year. In a lengthy post on X, the composer said he needed time to focus on his mental, physical and overall well-being before returning to music.“I am all good & I will go all the way in, this time, to do what is best for me & only do what is important to my heart & for my health. Need a break for my mind, body, soul and overall physical healing. Need to rise, recuperate and bounce back soon with a heart full of melodies for you all my dearest #Amaalians ♥️ PS – No more film music till next year, old unreleased film songs will arrive soon if the films even end up releasing, as they are smaller budget movies with good intent and such people don’t get screens easily so don’t know the future of those projects… Please request you not to pester me any further.
