Brad Pitt recently celebrated one of his close friend George Clooney’s big achievements at the Venice Film Festival. During one of the segments, actress Laura Dern presented him with the Golden Lion award for lifetime achievement; she also read out a hilarious piece of text while doing so.

PEOPLE reported that during this year’s Venice Film Festival opening ceremony, George Clooney received one of the film centre’s highest honours. While Brad Pitt could not be there physically, he was there in spirit along with a message.Laura Dern shared Pitt’s words on stage and read, “He can do, perform, accomplish, and compete at most anything and does it better than any of us, but please, keep him off the dance floor. He doesn’t know. And now, this pigeon-toed kid from Kentucky, elder statesman, who, when you can’t get Brad Pitt, you know, Clooney, will show up because he never met an award he wouldn’t run to, is getting a lifetime achievement award? So why? Why do we love George Clooney?”She continued, “He’s a rogue, a prankster, an altruist, an actor, and an athlete. The only guy you’d want in a crisis: a father, a husband, a global citizen, a defender of justice, and . . . a really bad dancer.”

During the awarding ceremony, Laura Dern also talked about Clooney and shared, “He is a man of the deepest kind of humanity and integrity, a man who lives for service and truth, and within that, who must tell stories, stories that of course entertain us, but that also move us, move us to be better, to long for goodness in ourselves, in each other, stories that look at protecting our freedoms and hold others accountable.” She also called him a great friend and shared that he was someone who would show up and be with you.On the work front, Clooney last appeared in the drama film ‘Jay Kelly.’ Other than that, he is also working on bringing a possible ‘Ocean’s 14’ film back to life. In an interview with E! News, the actor revealed that he has been working on the sequel to ‘Ocean’s 11.’ When production for the project begins, Clooney will be reuniting with Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle.Variety reported last year that the initial production for the ‘Ocean’s’ film would start sometime in October 2025.
