Actor Bruce Campbell, an iconic part of the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise, chose to step away from it. He has now officially made his first statement about the matter, explaining how his interests diverged after all these years, despite his love for the series. After a social media post about him stepping away from the role forever went viral online, Campbell provided clarifications and apologised for not being upfront about it. Over the years, Campbell reprised his role as Ash Williams in multiple projects under the franchise; however, in the recent releases (‘Evil Dead Rise’ and ‘Evil Dead Burn’), he only contributed to the films as an executive producer. Reacting to this, he wrote, “Apologies if this news seems new. It’s hard to communicate everything with everyone. I tapped out after AVED.” He further shared, “Mostly, the reasons were ability and interest, in equal measure. I didn’t want Ash to be compromised by declining skills, and as a borderline Geezer, my interests have diverged. I’ll always love Evil Dead to death—literally.”Campbell provided the clarification along with posting photos of his chair from ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ and another photo that featured him in the iconic get-up from the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise.
