Ben Affleck’s early life
Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt was born on August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California; however, he moved to Massachusetts when he was three years old along with his family members. His mother, Chris Anne Affleck, who recently passed away, was a Harvard graduate, a public school teacher, and a civil rights activist. His father, Timothy Affleck, was a playwright and actor who later in life got sober and became an addiction counselor. His debut in the industry came when he was only seven years old in the film ‘Dark Side of the Street’. He scored minor roles in various projects. This is also around the time he met Matt Damon, who used to live two blocks away from him in Cambridge and was also interested in acting. While he did try to attend college, first at the University of Vermont and later at Occidental College in Los Angeles to study Spanish, he dropped out both times to pursue acting full-time.His big break came with ‘Good Will Hunting’ in 1997, in which both Damon and Affleck starred together. The two of them worked on the screenplay together, sold it, and starred in the film themselves.
