What ETimes said about the film

ETimes, in its review of ‘Uyir’, wrote, “Roshan Mathew delivers a restrained and convincing performance as Ajeeb. His silences, hesitation, and emotional control make the character believable. Vinoth Sagar and Baiju Santhosh are effective in their parts, while Athulya Chandran, Santhosh Thrivikraman, and the supporting cast contribute well to the film’s grounded mood. The film also explores the difficult balance between a police officer’s professional duty and personal morality.Despite a few uneven stretches, Uyir deserves appreciation for its emotional sincerity and its attempt to tell a socially relevant story with sensitivity. It may not be a flawless investigative thriller, but it leaves behind a sense of sadness, satisfaction, and moral discomfort.”
